Areas of Interest

My research interests include vector biology and ecology, vector surveillance, enzootic cycles of vector-borne disease, and host-pathogen-vector interactions, with a focus on ticks and tick-borne diseases. 

Research

My current research projects include studying the Ixodes scapularis endosymbiont Rickettsia buchneri and its contributions to shaping the tick's ability to host other pathogens, the innate immune response of the tick to pathogens, development of novel vaccines to TBDs, and investigating new methods for tick-borne pathogen surveillance.
