Visits to the Insect Collection by researchers, school groups, and the general public can be arranged through the curator, Dr. Paul Tinerella (612-624-1254). We prefer to accommodate groups of several individuals (6-12), rather than one or only a few people. All ages are welcome, but tours are geared to children 6 years and older. In all cases, children under 15 should be accompanied by parents, guardians, or other adult chaperones.

EXHIBIT

"The Art of Entomology"

The University of Minnesota Insect Collection announces a new, permanent exhibit showcasing traditional and digital artwork of insect illustrations from the Department of Entomology, University of Minnesota.  Representative insect illustrations are on display with the newly remodeled insect biodiversity exhibit maintained by faculty, staff, students, and the Insect Collection at the University of Minnesota.

The illustrations and artwork were created by students in the class "Scientific Illustration of Insects" (ENT 5051) offered every other Fall Semester by Dr. Ralph Holzenthal.

The exhibit is open to the public during the hours listed below.  It is a self-guided walk through the display area on the fourth floor of Hodson Hall, above the Entomology, Fisheries, and Wildlife Library, and includes framed artwork, as well as representative insect specimens (and relatives) for viewing.
