The objectives of this project are:

(1) To resolve the taxonomic questions of Marilia species, describe new species, and make preliminary associations of larvae currently in collections.

(2) To provide tools for identification of tropical odontocerid species in both traditional and electronically accessible format

(3) To document the diversity of odontocerid species, by illustrating and describing morphological characteristics and providing information about material in collections.

(4) To establish stable taxon definitions for the family Odontoceridae that are based on shared derived characters.
