The second section,
limited in the European fauna, to the genus Odontocerum, belongs
to the two species whose tubes are constructed of small stones as seen
in fig. 1: and 1,5 of Est. VIII (Vol. III of the Archivos). These genera
will have to constitute one new, for which I consider the name of Marilia,
calling the two species Marilia major (fig. 14) and Marilia
minor (fig. 15). This new genus is distinguished from Odontocerum by
antennas not indented, by the enormous eyes of the males (touching
in the vertice of the males of the Marilia minor, and separate
for one intervallo alone narrow in the ones of the Marilia major),
for the ray ("radius") and the first apical sector will confluirem
in azas previous as in such a way posterior, and for other characters.
The two species of Marilia, whose houses I described, frequent
various brooks. a third species, to that it seems, rarer, whose larvae
I found in the river Itajahy. The houses to differem of the ones of
the Marilia major quasi that for being only very short; therefore
it is excused to give to a figure of them; have-if-ha a idéa
exacta of its form imagining itself cut to the posterior half of the
houses of the Marilia major. (Est. VIII, fig. 1.1, To). Alone
the house of this third species that now I have, tern 6mm of length,
being diameter of the entrance of 2 and of the posterior extremity
(of 1, mm5. The posterior extremity is covered, corno in the other Marilia,
for a transversal wall with elliptico hole in the superior part. It
fulfills to notice that it substantiates it of that this wall is made
and with that others are found an ace grudadas, small stones of the
house, is very pale, almost without color, in how much black or medium
brown dark in the two others species. |

Marilia major Fr.
Mull.
(Tafel III. Fig. 91, 92,)
Basic colour of the heading dark-brown, which large black eyes stand together
on the Dorsalflaeche so closely that only a narrow, space between them,
covered closely with whitish hair, remains. Feeler threadlike, more than
twice as long like the forward wings, brown, from fourth to for instance
to the tenth member narrowly black at the Articulationen, which know the
following members in the distal half; first member remarkably largely,
as long as the heading, second member small. Lower surface of the heading
together with the tracers likewise with close bright hair trimming; Kiefertaster
strongly, second member somewhat more largely than third, fourth and the
fifth bent member still more briefly, basic member briefly, thickly; at
the inner edge the Behaarung of the tracer is particularly close. Lip
tracer tenderly, three-membered. Pro thorax very small. Chest red-brown,
Mesonotum at the pages more darkly, those whole lower surface brightly
behaart, top side naked. Abdomen red-brown. Legs yellow-red, rails and
Tarsen more or less darkly, everything, with exception of the thighs closely
and briefly whitish behaart; Spur number of 2, 4, 4 (m); Interiorspur
more largely as if externalspur, the Subapicaisporne of the central legs
(these are importantly larger than those of the hind legs) be very far
basalwaerts on the rail. The forward wings (Fig. 91) are narrowly and
long, after that Apex few widened, the Apicalrand almost even, the Hinterfluegel
very broadly (M), folding, triangular. Diaphragm of the wings somewhat
clouded, which forward wings more yellowish, which rear more grey, both
with blackish Behaarung, under which however, particularly on the forward
wings, on mid lightyellow hair numerous beside the longitudinal veins
AUDI are visible; Edge lashes show up only in the Hinterfluegel, it are
mixed from blackish and gold-yellow hair. Nervatur (Fig. 91) particularly
in the Hinterfluegel peculiarly, in both is available a long closed Discoidaizelle;
in both the radius unites briefly before its end with the first Apicalsector;
Median cell being missing, fork 1 and 2 available; in the Hinterfluegel
the fifth Apicalader flows into sixth, thus to a certain extent a false
median cell is formed. - abdomen red-brown. The genital appendices (m)
point to relationship with Odontocerum (Fig. 92): Tergit of the last segment
in the center of the Hinterrandes triangular preferred, ventralwaerts
of it an extension, under which the Penis hides itself, the upper appendices
strongly, curved; the lower more briefly, by the page regarded, toward
the end gradually diminish becoming; Anliaenge long behaart.
Body length: 11 mm; Wing length: 30 mm.
1 time collected from Santa Catharina, of Luederwaldt (26 January), in
the Stettiner museum. I believe that one belongs to the this type available
in the Stettiner museum from Santa Catharina; it has also the spur number
of 2, 4, 4; on the forward wings are more numerous light places. The Hinterfluegel
is much diminishes as with and has somewhat deviating Nervatur (Fig. 93).
A second just as large has only 2, 4, spurs and differs also otherwise,
third is quite small and belonged perhaps to Marilia minor Fr. garbage.
So for a long time however further does not admit is, would like I the
2 latter to describe
Body length of the F von Marilia major: 7 mm, wing voltage: 20 mm. - body
length of the F von Mar. minor (?): approx.. 6 mm, F1uegeßpannung
approx.. 1,7 mm; this latter has 2, 4, 2 seem-spurs.
Could general be said about the Marilia types: The spur number is alike
either to 2.4.2 or 2, 4, 4, but in the types; the mm have broader Hinterfluegel
than the FF. At least 4 types, of it 3, existiren each other in the colouring
similar, in Santa Catharina.
