1. Marilia javana n. frame (Taf. XVIII, Fig.
547-552.)
Homeland: Java; Type (male) in my collection, typical copy also in the
museum Buitenzorg.
Material: 2 male, west Java, Gedeh: 1000 m, Tjisarua, 7. VI. 1932, Panggerango,
respectively. 600 m, Tapos, 15. X. 1932, both put. LIEFTINCK, the first
in the museum Buitenzorg, the latter in my collection is the type.
This type comes the Chinese lata ULM. (Arch. f. Nat. 91. 1925. S. 68.
Fig. 53-56) close; it differs from the latter mainessentially by brighter
feelers, more strongly gefleckte forward wings, whose Apikalrand is clearly
concave, by longer member I of the Maxillartaster. In the colouring reminds
javana of the Hydropsychide Smicridea edwardsii MCLACH. from Australia.
The upperflat heading, Pronotum and Mesonotum pitch-brown, snow-white
closely behaart; Metanotum ocher-yellowish, lower surface of the heading
and the chest ocher-brown to yellow brown; Abdomen impure greenish-white,
translucently, only the last segments opak and somewhat more darkly.
Feeler
ocher-yellowish, very closely and finely snow-white visibly behaart,
the basic tone at the joints, so that the feelers appear finely small
white;
Basal member dark-yellow-brown. Tracer dark grey-brown (about umbra),
closely grey-whitish behaart; at the Maxillartastern (Fig. 552) member
I is somewhat longer shorter as II, this at least as long as III, member
IV somewhat more briefly than III, member V still. Eyes (?) very largely,
above like down only a narrow space (hardly of double width of the basal
feeler member) releasing, as with the type lata. Legs lightbrownish-yellow,
closely white, only the Tarsen of the rear legs behaart somewhat darkened,
to vorderbeine also the rail darkly; Hips and thighs yellow-brown; Spur
number of 2, 4, 4. Wing (Fig. 547-548) somewhat slimmer than concave
with
lata, the edge of apical of the forward wing weakly; Forward wing with
light-grey diaphragm, closely and lying close white and umbra brown behaart,
so the fact that the wing gefleckt or appears speckled the white portions
gleams with certain lighting lightgreenish; the dark portions are everywhere
absent-minded, z. T. flowing together; like that larger dark portions
(in irregular transverse binding or transverse marks) at the edge of
apical,
into de Apikaizellen, at the anastomosis are, in the environment of the
DZ and MZ and in the basal portion; also the point of wing is brown marked
and the front edge is darkened, likewise most longitudinal veins; the
edge lashes are dark grey-brown (umbra), only at the Hinterrande brightly,
which step most veins, due to the dark Fleckung, completely well out.
Hinterfluegel very broadly, with whitish-colorless diaphragm, closely
white behaart, Perl nut-like gloss-end, with certain lighting toward
the
front edge somewhat more darkly appearing; the veins are grey whitish
and are already without Enthaarung some masen visibly; Edge lashes knows,
at the front edge more grey-whitish, at the interior edge long; Jugum
with long kremefarbenen, haarpinsel (this similarly also with lata!).
In both wings R flows into the first apical sector, with the forward
wing
near the Apex, with the Hinterfluegel more removes. In the forward wing
(Fig. 547) the DZ is somewhat longer long as its handle, about 5mal as
as broad; Fork 1 goes to me to the DZ down (hardly 1/6), fork 2 is little
gestielt, the handle about 2 1/2 time as long as the discoidale transverse
vein; the following (fifth) sector (M1+2) is separate only by a very
short
transverse vein (r-m) from that handles of the fork 2; this transverse
vein is situated somewhat proximally from the center of the handle, and
the base of the sector M1+2 runs schrage backwards into the following
sector (M3+4) inside; it looks almost in such a way, as if rise from
M1+2
from that handles of the fork 2; but egg comparison with the figures
of female wings shows that transverse vein r-m is situated between them;
Apical cell III is considerably more briefly than II and V. Tin Hinterfluegel
(Fig. 548) is somewhat longer and broader the DZ than in the forward
wing,
from same shape; Fork 1 is enough just as far to the DZ down as in the
forward wing; the point of wing is in third spreads Apikaizelle, between
R4+5 and M1+2, why it cannot concern fork 2; the Cu1 flows into the last
(fifth) apical vein, achieved thus the edge of wing and is by far not
ungeteilt. The genital appendices (Fig. 549-551) are amber-yellow; the
Xth Tergit is strongly diminished in Dorsalansicht (Fig. 550) from broad
base to a blunt point, which is weakly nicked; the side edges are concave,
on the upperflat pull themselves jederseits a furrow parallel the side
edges along, which ruit in the narrow apical portion of the Tergits their
opposite together a long keel (or a border) includes; if one turns the
object somewhat after a page lim, then one notices that those do not
indicate
visible concave edges beforehand as side edges yet the ventrale delimitation
of the Tergits, but only a second somewhat curved border (or Kiel) also
under it to furrow present represent; this second border is visible in
its start in Fig. 551, in which the Apex of the Xth Tergits is demonstrated
from the rear (and something from on the right) ago; also the first mentioned
border is visible; the Apex is provided with one dorsoventral running
narrow gap; in lateral opinion (Fig. 549) the Xth Tergit forms a hollow
body, with weakly convex Dorsal and for weakly concave edge of vent ral,
at the Apex broadly and blunt rounded; regarded from down, is the hollow
body, the further to the Apex the more, laterally squeezed together.
The
App. praean. is long and very narrowly elliptically, somewhat downward
(Fig. 549) and inside (Fig. 550) curved. The Penis is not visible. The
genital feet are s-foermig swung, from broad base diminished, rod-shaped,
the second member a little longer as broadly, by dark pellets and Boerstchen
rough and darker (Fig. 549, 550). App. and genital feet are very long
and closely beborstet. - female unknown.
Body length: 7 mm; Forward wing: 9-9 1/2 mm; Wing voltage: 19-20 mm. Discovery
sites: Java: Tjisarua, 1000 m, VI; Tapos, 600 m, Xth
NB. At the M. lata (s. o.) I stated after thorough Enthaarung of the forward
wing that a short transverse vein (fewer distal of the DZ) between handle
of fork is available also there 2 and the following apical vein; furthermore
a track of the bright Cu1-Linie is to be also seen, but more near rising
from the Cu2 at the diagonal transverse vein; in the Hinterfluegel the
point of wing is to be shifted correctly into the third apical cell, into
second it inadvertently came (viz. Fig. 53 of 1925). - with lata member
I is certainly more briefly than II, member III at least as long as II,
member IV and V about same, everyone about so long as I at the Maxillartastern.
