My research is motivated by an underlying desire to protect our Earth’s precious resources. I am especially concerned with the plight of the Tropical Andes, a top biodiversity hotspot. To draw awareness of the importance of protecting this unique region, it is vital to study and document the incredible biological diversity residing there.

My thesis research involves revisionary taxonomic work of the Neotropical caddisfly subfamily Protoptilinae (Glossosomatidae) with possible new genus and species-level identifications and descriptions.
