The shape of the adult beetle is more oval than elongate, and more rounded and convex than flat and slender:

Elytron has:
C. septempunctata adult C. munda adult
3 black spots in addition to scutellar spot,
(7 spots in total on elytra) length 6.5 mm or more.
Elytron without spots, length 3.7 - 5.7 mm
Coccinella septempunctata Cycloneda munda
