All requests for computer support should be directed to the college IS department. Problems can be reported via a helpdesk form at http://helpdesk.coafes.umn.edu/ or by sending an e-mail to cfans.help@umn.edu

A good resource on safe computer at the University can be found at http://safecomputing.umn.edu/. It has the latest information on U of MN policies, current security and virus warnings as well as a downloadable CD image of Windows patches and virus fixes.

The department has an HP Laserjet 1320tn printer in room 219 that can be used by anyone in the department. This printer does have the ability to print on both sides of the paper (duplex printing). If you need help connecting to this printer, please contact Janet Moe. Because it is the primary printer for some of the office staff, long print jobs should be sent to the printer after normal work hours. If students need to print their thesis, they should check with their advisor about the appropriate way to do so.

If you need a document printed in color, the department does have a color laser printer. Please give the file to Janet Moe to be printed.
