Using your notes, look up information for 10
pesticides (5 biorational and 5 conventional). The 2 examples
do not count as part of the 10. Specify which are
conventional (broad-spectrum: pyrethroids, organophosphates, neonicotinoids, carbamates, chlorinated hydrocarbons) and which
are biorational (conserve beneficials: microbials, IGRs, soaps,
oils, botanicals, specific miticides).
-
To make the table, create 8 columns at the top of the table
and label them as follows: (1) common chemical name of the
pesticide, (2) trade name, (3) class (classification), (4) oral
LD50, (5) dermal LD50, (6) chemical company.
-
Put your name, date, and student number above the table.
-
Make the table in Microsoft Word. Use Times
font, size 10 or 12. Save the file in .doc or .rtf format and label it
"last name, quiz #.doc or "last name, quiz #.rtf." The table may
also be made in Excel and saved in .xls format. Email it as an enclosure. Put your name and quiz
#
in the email message subject. Please check with a virus protect
program before emailing. Email to
pests@umn.edu.
